Jekyll and Hyde

28 January 2014, Tuesday
This day we have 72 miles to go.  Our destination is Jekyll Harbor Marina.  But before we get there, we have two super shallow areas to go through.  The first is Little Mud River, which is 3 1/2 miles long.  Once again I have adjusted the schedule so Joe is driving when we get to it, and once again, he does well.  The steering is hydrauliccaly dampened, so his shaking does not affect the accuracy of the course.

The next area we get to is the back side of Jekyll Island, which is another 2 mile stretch to thin water.
Guess who's turn it is to drive this stretch?  You got it, Joe.  He is so lucky.  We ended up using Google Maps, Satellite view to see where the deepest water was on this stretch, This system worked well, as the chart plotter/gps showed us on dry land several times.  We arrived at the marina just in time to catch the falling rain.  We fueled up and moved to our dock assignment.

This ramp rose a height of 8 feet, the next morning at high tide, it was level with the sidewalk
We hooked up our electrical and antenna wires to the dock but could get no signal on the televisions. On our way up to the restaurant for dinner I stopped in the office and asked if there was a problem with the antenna system.  The marina lady said that it was cable and I would need to use one of their comcast cable boxes to receive the signal. (25 dollar cash deposit)  I asked her if I would get the same exact 20 and 5 dollar bills back in the morning and she assured me that I would.  The next morning I returned the cable box to the office and no one there seemed to know anything about my security deposit.  The manager finally discovered it tucked away in an envelope.  It was indeed the same bills. I had carefully marked them with my "code".
