16 May 2012

0700 today, 16 May, we depart from Grafton heading south.  Projected next stop is Hoppies Marina, 90 miles down the Mississippi.  We left Oskaloosa, KS on Monday morning, driving to Grafton harbor.  Have spent the last day and a half maintaining and cleaning JULI-IV for this phase.  Our hosts here in Grafton, Jan and Joe Dshirlia, and their Dock Man, Nathan, have gone overboard taking care of us.  We moved the vehicle to St. Louis Regional Airport last night, using the "Marina Courtesy Truck" to return to the Marina. We had made two trips to Jerseyville for supplies.
Jerseyville is the nearest town that has anything not related to wine, i.e. Walmart. During one of these road trips to Jerseyville, The "Oracle" made a great philosophical statement, which I cannot now remember, and probably should not repeat, for our sensitive followers. He made up for this statement by this one: "I need to take my wallet out of my shorts before I jump in the pool", well, his wallet contents are now laid out drying. Not much in the way of photos yet, but there will be plenty soon.  We jumped at the opportunity Tuesday evening to fuel up.

This is "Dock Man" Nathan supervising Joe fueling around.
And this is the Bald Headed Eagle that was supervising our dinner.
See you all later.
